Archibald Sandeman (2 January 1887 - 9 April 1941) was a Scottish painter[1][2]

Life

His father was John Sandeman (13 April 1853 - 12 December 1917), a rum distiller from Glasgow.

His mother was Mary Baxter (12 February 1861 - 1946) from Forfar. John and Mary married on 13 April 1886 at Eden Lodge, Arbroath Road in Dundee.

Archibald Sandeman was born in Maryhill, Glasgow on 2 January 1887.[5]

He married the embroiderer Annie Muriel Boyd (22 June 1887 - 21 December 1981) from Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.[6] They married on 15 June 1915 in Evesham, Worcestershire.[7]

Their daughter Margot Sandeman became an artist.

Death

He died on 9 April 1941 in Killearn, Stirlingshire. He was buried in New Kilpatrick cemetery, Bearsden.[10]
