Mary Hamilton Campbell (18 September 1789 - 5 April 1885) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]Her father was Walter Campbell (29 December 1741 - 9 October 1816), 9th of Skipness and 3rd of Shawfield.
Her mother was Mary Nisbet (born 4 August 1750) from Belhaven in East Lothian, the daughter of William Nisbet of Dirleton.
Mary Campbell Hamilton was born on 18 September 1789 at Woodhall House, Edinburgh.[2]
She married Lord James Ruthven (17 October 1777 - 27 July 1853) of Freeland. They married on 20 December 1813 at Pencaitland House, East Lothian.[3]
