Robert Traill Rose (12 March 1861 - 3 December 1942) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was John Rose (c. 1828 - 1894), a stationer from Edinburgh.
His mother was Annie Drummond Traill (born c. 1834) from Leith, Edinburgh. John and Annie married in 1856 in Edinburgh.
Robert Traill Rose was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England on 12 March 1861; and brought up in Scotland.[3][4]
He married Mary Tweedie Stodart (1873 - 1953) from Tweedsmuir, north of Moffat. They married at New Greyfriars in Edinburgh on 11 June 1919.[5]

[edit]He died on 3 December 1942 in Edinburgh. His funeral was at Warriston crematorium on 5 December 1942 in Edinburgh.
