Joseph Kent Richardson (7 May 1876 - 9 November 1972) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Robert Elliott Richardson (1837 - 1907), a professor of music from Manchester, England. He later took up landscape painting.[3]
His mother was Isabella Connolly (1862 - 1906) from Edinburgh. Robert and Isabella married on 31 March 1873 in Blythswood, Glasgow, after banns were issued on 28 March 1873.
Joseph Kent Wolfgang Richardson was born on 7 May 1876 in Edinburgh.
He married Alice May Marshall (born 1874) from Bermondsey in Surrey, England. They married on 12 September 1900 in Edinburgh.
He married Jenny Grandison (1900 - 1950) from Portobello, Edinburgh. They married on 31 October 1922 in London.
He married again to Mary Helen Cuthbert. They married on 15 December 1953 in Edinburgh.

[edit]He died on 9 November 1972 in East Fortune, East Lothian. His usual address was The Studio, Goose Green, Gullane in East Lothian. His funeral was on 13 November 1972 at Warriston crematorium in Edinburgh.[5]
