His mother was Christian Richardson (born c. 1766) from Dunsyre in South Lanarkshire.
Andrew Richardson was born c. 1800 in Edinburgh.
He married Mary Lucretia Rogers, youngest daughter of Philip Fay of New York and relict of Charles Rogers of Philadelphia. They married at 31 South Clerk Street in Edinburgh on 8 April 1852.[6] The banns were issued earlier on 23 November 1851.[7]
