James Brown Reid (1838 - 14 November 1863) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life

His father was John Reid (10 August 1815 - 6 February 1896) from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.
His mother was Jean Brown (c. 1818 - 28 January 1899) from Irvine, Ayrshire. John and Jean married on 20 July 1838 in Kilmarnock.
James Brown Reid was born in Kilmarnock c. 1838.[4]
He married Mary Ann Tweedie (18 August 1838 - 27 June 1865) from Rerrick in Kirkcudbrightshire. James and Mary married on 26 September 1850 in Darmellington, Ayrshire.[5]
Their daughter Janet Jane died when 8 months old.

[edit]He died on 14 November 1863 in Edinburgh. He is buried in Dalry cemetery in Edinburgh.[6] He is buried with his wife and daughter.[7]
