Andrew Scott Rankin (7 March 1868 - 13 July 1942) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was George Rankin (4 November 1819 - 4 September 1881), a banker, writer (solicitor) and Justice of the Peace from Galashiels.
His mother was Margaret Campbell Scott (c. 1837 - 21 December 1899) from Lytham in Lancashire, England. George and Margaret married on 25 July 1859 in Aberfeldy, Perthshire.
Andrew Scott Rankin was born on 7 March 1868 in Aberfeldy.[3]
He married Isabella Gibson (c. 1868 - 4 December 1955), the only daughter of Thomas Gibson, architect, of Edinburgh.[4] They married on 4 April 1894 at the Regent Hotel in Edinburgh.[5]

[edit]He died on 13 July 1942 at Cuil Aluinn, Moulin in Pitlochry, Perthshire. The funeral was on 16 July 1942.[6] He was buried in Kenmore cemetery, Perthshire.[7]
