Francis Powell (22 March 1833 - 27 November 1914) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was William Frederick Powell (born c. 1802), a merchant from Manchester, England.
His mother was Eliza Gasquoine (1797 - 17 November 1882) from Manchester. William and Eliza married on 13 April 1825 in Manchester.
Francis Powell was born on 22 March 1833 in Manchester.
In 1857 he moved to Dunoon in Scotland.[3]
He married twice. The first was to Eliza Lockett (1828 - 1912) from Manchester. They married on April 1858 in Salford, England. The second marriage was to Annie Ina Hamilton Boyd MacNab (5 November 1890 - 20 July 1973) from Lochgoilhead in Argyll. They married in Glasgow on 16 June 1914.[4] Francis was 81, Annie was 21 at their marriage.[5]

[edit]He died at his home Torr Aluinn in Dunoon on 27 October 1914.[6]
