Charles Gustav Louis Phillips (c. 1864 - 20 March 1944) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was Charles Aitkens Phillips (born 25 August 1833) from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.
His mother was Margaret Sangster (15 September 1833 - 5 September 1905) from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. Charles and Margaret married on 23 May 1859 in Peterhead.
Charles Gustav Louis Phillips was born in Montevideo, Uruguay c. 1864.[3]
He married Annie Young Mackie (c. 1865 - 30 December 1951) from Dundee. They married on 8 July 1891 at 5 North Tay Street, Dundee.[4]

[edit]He died on 20 March 1944 at 310 Strathmartine Road, in Dundee.[5] The funeral was on 23 March 1944 at Dundee Crematorium.[6]
