George Salmond Peddie (31 July 1883 - 25 July 1911) was a Scottish painter.
Life

His father was Thomas Peddie (c. 1853 - 1923), a railway guard from Eastfield in Perthshire.
His mother was Mary Salmond (c. 1858 - 1933) from Dron in Perthshire. They married on 5 December 1882 in Dundee.
On New Year's Day in 1883 Mary Salmond was brutally assaulted by 5 men. The case came to court in February and the 5 men were charged.[2][3] She was pregnant when she was attacked.
George Salmond Peddie was born at 6:50 am on 31 July 1883 at 17 Union Place in Dundee.

[edit]He died on 25 July 1911 in Dundee. He is buried in Balgay cemetery in Dundee.[4]
