Christian Peddie (30 April 1864 - 2 January 1940) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

Her father was William Peddie, sometimes noted as Pedie, (c. 1828 - 1867), a sheriff officer from Edinburgh.

Her mother was Elizabeth Ritchie (c. 1834 - 11 December 1910), a lodging keeper from Edinburgh. They married on 16 September 1855 in Edinburgh.[7][8]

Christian Peddie was born on 30 April 1864 in Newington, Edinburgh.[9]

When William died, the Peddies moved in with John Allan, a tailor, and his wife and family. Later her mother remarried a commission agent, George Colenutt in 1885 in Edinburgh.

Christian married John Alexander Henderson Tarbet in 1931 in Cramond.

Death

She died on 2 January 1940 at a nursing home in Newington, Edinburgh.[10] The funeral was on 5 January 1940 at Warriston cemetery.
