John Rutherford Patrick (26 February 1866 - 25 October 1943) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was John Patrick (16 January 1831 - 19 May 1923), a Photographer, and a Portrait & Landscape Painter from Buckhaven, Fife.[3]

His mother was Jane Rutherford (13 December 1828 - 10 December 1901) from Scoonie in Fife. John and Jane married in Scoonie on 16 February 1852.

John Rutherford Patrick was born on 26 February 1866 in Scoonie, Fife.[4]

He married Anna Louisa Lockhart (29 May 1866 - 22 December 1896). They married on 20 December 1895. Anna died shortly after the childbirth of her son Robert. Robert used his mother's surname.

John Rutherford Patrick remarried after the death of Anna. He married Jessie Alexanderina Robertson (3 July 1871 - 8 August 1906) from Stornoway. They married on 27 June 1903 in Edinburgh.

He died on 25 October 1943 in Morningside, Edinburgh. He was buried on 27 October 1943.
