Ranald Noel Paton (8 June 1864 - 27 January 1943) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was the artist Joseph Noel Paton (13 December 1821 – 26 December 1901) from Dunfermline.
His mother was Margaret Gourlay Ferrier (20 December 1832 - 29 May 1900) from Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire. Joseph and Margaret married on 17 June 1858 in Blythswood, Glasgow.
Ranald Noel Paton was born on 8 June 1864 in Edinburgh.
He married Winifred Jane Wallace (4 April 1869 - 17 August 1931) from Old Monkland, Lanarkshire. They married on 12 July 1897 in London, England.
When Winifred died, he remarried. He married Una Buddle (born c. 1893) on 27 September 1933 in London, England. Una was the daughter of C. F. Buddle of Auckland, New Zealand.[3]

[edit]He died on 27 January 1943 at 16 Eglinton Crescent, in a Edinburgh nursing home. His usual address was Coldon at Port of Mentieth in Stirlingshire. He is buried in the Port of Monteith churchyard.[4]
