George Harrison Park (19 April 1847 - 4 January 1888) was a Scottish painter.[1]

His father was Patric Park (12 February 1811 - 16 August 1855), a sculptor from Glasgow.

His mother was Robina Roberts Carruthers (2 March 1822 - 29 October 1897) from Huntingdon, England. Her family was from Inverness. Patric and Robina married on 15 October 1844 in Inverness.[6]

George Park was born on 19 April 1847 in Westminster, London, England. He was baptised there on 26 July 1847.[7] He was brought up in Inverness, first by his maternal grandparents, and when his mother and stepfather moved back to Scotland he then stayed with them.

After Patric died Robina remarried. George Marsh Harrison and Robina married in 1859 in Caistor, Lincolnshire, England.[8]

George took the middle name Harrison from his stepfather.

Death

He died on 4 January 1888 in Edinburgh. His executor was his brother Padric Park, a music teacher. He was buried in Tomnahurich Cemetery in Inverness.[9]

His estate was valued at £580, 8 shillings and 3 pence.[10]
