Marie Louise Norie (28 September 1866 - 30 December 1939) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Her father was Henry Hay Norie (8 June 1837 - 11 May 1900), a writer to the signet and cashier from Elgin.

Her mother was the artist Christina Moir (23 September 1840 - 11 March 1907) from Alloa in Clackmannanshire.[8][9] Henry and Christina married on 8 September 1864 in Alloa.[10]

Marie Louise Isobel Norie was born on 28 September 1866 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.[11]

She married the artist Daniel Albert Wehrschmidt (1861 - 22 February 1932) from Cuyahoga County near Cleveland, Ohio in the United States, the son of a German immigrant tailor.[12] They married on 22 July 1890 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Edinburgh.

Their surname was anglified as the First World War enfolded. It became Veresmith.[13]

She died on 30 December 1939 at Court Hall, Kenton in Devon, England. Her usual address was The Spain, Petersfield in Hampshire, England. Her estate was valued at £2242, 4 shillings and 4 pence.[14]
