Helen Crockett Grieve (8 September 1856 - 23 October 1912) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
[edit]Her father was John Grieve (c. 1825 - 23 March 1903), a hotel keeper from Alyth in Perthshire.
Her mother was Ann Stagg Elson (4 February 1829 - c. 1891) from Dumfriesshire. John and Ann married on 12 January 1851 in Edinburgh.
Helen Crockett Grieve was born on 8 September 1856 in West Port, Edinburgh.[2]
She married the artist Pollok Sinclair Nisbet (18 October 1848 - 28 December 1922) from Edinburgh. They married on 3 December 1879 at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.[3]

[edit]She died on 23 October 1912 in Edinburgh. She is buried in Dean cemetery in Edinburgh.[4]
