John Nicolson (c.1843 - 13 June 1934) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life

His father was John Nicolson [Snr] (17 January 1806 - 6 January 1890) from Dunnet.
His mother was Janet Manson (3 May 1805 - 4 March 1886) from Canisbay. John [Snr] and Janet married on 30 December 1833 in Canisbay.
John Nicolson was born at Stemster near John O' Groats in 1843.[8]
He married Jane Mowat (1854 - 1 November 1922) from Canisbay. John and Jane married on 13 November 1874 in Canisbay.[9]

[edit]He died on 13 June 1934 at Halfway House in Auckengill.[11] He is buried in Canisbay churchyard.
