The John Blue Cotton Festival is held the second weekend of October at the John Blue House, traditionally drawing over 10,000 visitors. This "old timey" event features crafts, antique collections, "hit and miss" engines, entertainment, food, and demonstrations of 19th century games and farming practices. [2] It also includes tours of the historic John Blue House and grounds, it has many exhibits including a working cotton gin, antique engines, train rides, and a museum. The Festival also offers crafts, hayrides, pony rides, and many other children games.[1]
