Qualified Teams

Being Hosts, India and Sri Lanka qualified automatically. From each 5 confederations 6 teams will qualify after Qualifiers. Rest 2 places will be filled by Inter-Confederations Play-offs. Since India and Sri Lanka are from Asia, Initially only 4 teams will qualify directly to WC from Asia. Rest can qualify through Play-off Tournament.

Africa Qualification

All 21 African nations that are members of International Cricket Committee will participate in 4 Rounds.

1st Round - One-off Play-off between teams ranked 20th and 21st to determine 20th team playing in 2nd round.
2nd Round - Teams Ranked 1st to 19th and round 1 winner (Total 20 teams) will compete against one team in 2 matches. All 10 series winners will advance to 3rd Round. Seedings will be done as per ICC rankings. Match 1 and teams will be identified as M1A and M1B, M2A, M2B likethat
3rd Round - 10 teams advanced from 2nd round will be split between 2 groups of 5. Top 3 from both groups will qualify for World Cup while 4th placed team from both group will go through 4th round.
4th Round - two 4th placed teams from round 3 will play single play-off match to determine the Inter-Confederation play-off nation from Africa.

Americas Qualification

All 17 nations that are members of ICC Americas and International Cricket Committee will participate in 3 Rounds.

1st Round - Teams ranked 11th 1o 17th will be divided in two groups. 1st Group will have 4 while 2nd group will have 3 countries. Groups will be determined through Draw. Top Team from each group advance to Second Round.
2nd Round - Teams Ranked 1st to 10th and round 1 winners (Total 12 teams) will be divided in 3 groups of 4. Groups will be determined through Draw. Top 2 from each group will qualify for World Cup while 4 fourth-placed teams will go through 3rd round.
3rd Round - This group will determine the country participating in Inter-Confederation play-off. The four 4th placed teams from round 2 will play Semi-Finals and then Final. Winner of the final will determine the Inter-Confederation play-off nation from Americas.

Europe Qualification

34 nations that are members of ECC and International Cricket Committee will participate in 2 Rounds. Russia has been suspended due to the country's invasion of Ukraine.

1st Round - All 34 teams will be divided in 8 groups. 6 Groups will consists of total each 4 teams and 2 groups will have 5 countries. Groups will be determined through Draw. Top 2 Team from each group will advance to 2nd round.
2nd Round - 16 teams advanced from Round 1 will be again divided into 4 groups of 4. Top team from each group will qualify for the World Cup, while remaining 2 spots in the world cup from Europe region will be decided by rank of 2nd placed teams from each group in 2nd Round and 3rd best 2nd placed team will advance to Inter-Confederation play-off from Europe Region.

East Asia-Pacific Qualification

All 11 East Asia-Pacific nations that are members of International Cricket Committee will participate in 2 Rounds.

1st Round - One-off Play-off between teams ranked 10th and 11th to determine 10th team playing in 2nd round.
2nd Round - Teams Ranked 1st to 9th and round 1 winner (Total 10 teams) will be divided in 2 groups of 5. Top 3 teams from both groups will qualify for the World Cup while best 4th placed team will advance to Inter-Confederation Play-off from East Asia-Pacific Region.
