Hello and thank you for visiting my user page!
Who Am I?
[edit]My name is Adam. I am from Scotland, and I'm a software engineer. Want to know more? Just ask!
What Am I Doing Here?
[edit]I love Wikipedia. I've used it as a starting point for research for years now. Not only is it one of the world's largest repositories of information, it also includes a substantial collection of references which were extremely useful throughout my academic career.
At the moment, I am spending my time adding infoboxes to articles which do not have them. I use the random article function to look for said articles. As well as adding to the visuals of the articles, they also add a lot of metadata. For example, search engines find it easier to get someone's date of birth from an infobox than from the article itself.
What Do I Hope To Achieve?
[edit]My goal is to contribute about an hour a week to Wikipedia (at least) to give back to a resource that I've gained so much from myself. I'd like to, when I'm more familiar with the editing tools, create and expand upon articles and maybe even get a few to good or featured status.
