Griffith Park
[edit]An entire section could be written on the historical classification of Griffith Park. Not only is the entire park designated, (which is only mentioned in the infobox) but specific structures such as the observatory are designated. I added some of the activities at the park but I think this needs to be developed along with the historical. The Park is listed in List of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monuments in Hollywood and there is a reference to the newsletter that announced the park designation. I want to combine this with what the EIR says;
In 2009, the City designated Griffith Park as Historic-Cultural Monument (HMC) No. 942. Features contributing to this designation include numerous buildings and structures that represent various architectural styles including Spanish Colonial Revival, Moderne, and Second Greek Revival, as well as infrastructure elements designed in the “Park Style”. Natural wilderness areas and designated landscapes also contribute to the Park’s designation. Crystal Springs Picnic Area, including the project site, is not identified as a contributing feature of the Griffith Park HCM. However, the project site lies within the vicinity of two contributing features: the Feliz Adobe, which houses the Park Ranger Station and Visitors Center, and the Wilson and Harding Golf Courses.

Mayfair Theater
[edit]Mayfair Theater, a historic Art Deco theater in downtown Ventura. City of Ventura. Point of Interest #95 accessed from link on City Map with Historic Landmarks In 2000, a fire severely damaged the structure destroying the Art Deco chandeliers, and the vaulted redwood roof, leaving only the thick outside walls with the majestic curving, neon lit marquee supported by a circular, mushroom shaped ticket booth.

[edit]South of the Site, is a freeway embankment (Dug before freeway?) but just on the other side is The Coast railroad line from there it is a short walk to the beach where Chumash.
When the town was laid out in cardinal directions, Meta street passed by. it was renamed Thompson and carried the state highway traffic before the Freeway so the site has a mission bell El Camino Real is designated as California Historical Landmark #784. The road passing right in front of the mission was Main Street, the only coastal california city with mission on the main st and only one of two California Mission towns whose mission is still in the heart of the original Downtown.
