Adamame is a Wikipedian originating in Silver Spring, Maryland and currently residing in Madison, Wisconsin. They are a student of English linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with coursework heavily involving the Dictionary of American Regional English. They also study the cultural, linguistic, and political history of the Philippines. Their intent as a Wikipedian is mainly to maintain and expand articles concerning language, human geography, sociolinguistics, urban planning, and the music of the United States. In these fields, they focus mainly on their geographical regions of interest and heritage: the Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern regions of the United States (particularly the Upper Midwest), and the Philippines, particularly the province of Negros Occidental, the whole island of Negros, and the surrounding Visayas region, along with Metro Manila.
