Adam Richards was born Richard Brian Comber 19th August 1970 In Higham Kent England at the age of 6 his mum remarried and his name Change to Richard Brian Adams around the age of 5 my Dad Ron Adams was ABA Boxing champion he joined R.A.F and become R.A.F Boxing champion from there Ron Adams left the R.A.F to join the British special forces S.B.S so his dad was well trained to be his 1st teacher in fighting arts Richard 1st train in was boxing and judo and unarmed combat around the age of 6 or 7 my Dad got me my 1st martial arts book it was a Bruce lee book then I got to see my 1st Bruce Lee Big Boss that when I got hook on kung fu so my. Mum and Dad took me to look at different style of martial arts class but the only style of martial arts I what to do was Kung Fu after look at about 20 different style of martial arts we found Feng shou part of the wu shu family I start my training that night with sifu Dhillon after year of training 7 days a week going on any day courses what the grand master chee soo was teaching on I would be there I got my first kids black belt at the age of 12 by the age of 14 I did my adult black belt grading this was the youngest in Feng shou to do this I was asked by the grand master to start going to Coventry where he lived once a week to train with his British team it was all the top people in the wu shu Taoist arts of the lee family

At the age of 16 Richard saw an advert for wing chun a 6-week course he joined up but the teacher did not know what most of the move where for so he left for London to ask a different style of wing chun teacher if he would teach him at 1st he said know he would not teach me on the 3rd time of asking him he said yes he would test me if he like the way I train he would teach me after 4 hours of train hard with different test he said yes this was a different style of wing Chun from his 1st one he tried this was under grandmaster William Cheung traditional wing Chun he started at 9 am the next morning till 4 pm Richard end up as his new teacher train partner 6 days a week after 6 months of train was put into a British kickboxing championships he won this he was the new British kickboxing champion at the age of 17 moves to hong kong for 2 years to help with his training

Kuen Tao is a martial art, which has been designed by Richard Adams. It is a combination of different martial arts that I have learnt throughout my time of training in the martial arts. it is a unique style of martial arts It includes in it styles, kung fu, which I’ve trained in for a period of about 40 years this was one of my first taste of any art which encouraged me to go on and learn many other styles. These have been Boxing, Wing Chun, muay Thai boxing, Jujitsu, Kali, Unarmed Combat, Savate and Kickboxing. My Boxing and Unarmed combat was trained to me by my DAD who was a ABA boxing champion and R.A.F boxing champion he was a member of the R.A.F then move over to the elite S.B.S he trained me in the elite move of the S.B.S After learning these different arts and achieving my goals in each art. I decided to create Kuen Tao, which draws on what I perceive to be the most effective elements of the various styles.
