David Bernardini (born February 11, 1983) is locally well-known in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area for his skill as a regular In The Groove player at the Coliseum in Camp Hill and Family Fun Center in Colonial Park Mall (at which locations he is better known by his nickname "Ace"). He is also quickly gaining popularity as a StepMania simfile author, having written a total of 107 original simfiles to date. His pen name has started gaining recognition alongside other more prolific simfile authors, and is becoming one of the more popular go-to stepchart authors for anime and cartoon song simfiles.
Skill Level

David is capable of clearing 12s and 13s, and is working on building enough stamina to pass his first 14.
Though he knows many others older than him who play on Expert difficulty, at 27 years old, he believes he is the oldest person in the Harrisburg area to clear a 13. He is uncertain if he is correct in making that statement; however, no one has yet stepped up to say otherwise.
Chart-Writing Tendencies
[edit]He has a tendency to write charts for anime titles, and/or songs that are cute in nature (though he has been known to chart for a serious song here and there).
David is known to love rolls. As a result, they often find their way into his simfiles.

(For the record, those four titles were "Bouken Desho Desho -English Fandub-," "God Knows -English Fandub-," "Sakura Kiss -English Fandub-," and "Hare Hare Yukai -English Fandub-.")
Collaborations
[edit]Two of the simfiles in David's simfile pack are collaborative efforts: "God Knows -English Fandub-" is a collaboration with DMAxel (who wrote Novice, Easy, Medium, and a Hard chart included as an edit), and "Makes Me Wonder" is a collaboration with KingSpadedAndy (who wrote the Hard chart).
Ace Of Hearts Simfiles

David offers his simfile pack for download on his website, which currently consists of a total of 78 songs (all of which have all five difficulty levels, except for his "novelties," which have all difficulties except Expert). Every song in his pack is ready for play as an ITG 2 custom song. (Songs currently in his "Recycle Bin" are also included in this list.)
The following table shows the basic information for all the songs included in his simfile pack.
For easy reference, the difficulty names have been abbreviated and their columns colored as follows: N = Novice (purple), E = Easy (green), M = Medium (yellow), H = Hard (red), Ex = Expert (blue).
Background and lyric features are also noted to the right for your reference. For backgrounds, "picture" indicates one still photo, "BG Changes" indicates changes between several photos, and "Video" indicates that the background video is included. For lyrics, "Yes" indicates there's a lyrics file, "No" means the song has lyrics but a lyric file hasn't been written, and "None" indicates the song is entirely instrumental and does not have any lyrics.

Controversy
"Caramelldansen -English Fandub-" by Cristina Vee had been found to be a copyright infringement by Caramell's record company, Remixed Records. In light of this discovery, even though he was never officially ordered to do so, David voluntarily removed the song from his simfile pack. It has since been replaced by a simfile of the official English version, "Caramelldancing."
