Inverkeithing High School is a non-denominational comprehensive secondary school at the East end of Inverkeithing in Scotland. Inverkeithing High serves around 1500 pupils aged from 11 to 19 and includes the On-Course Centre (OCC for short) for children with Additional Support Needs.
The school's catchment area covers Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Rosyth, Aberdour and High Valleyfield, but also from Dunfermline under exceptional circumstances. The school employs approximately 100 staff.

The school opened in YEAR, with headmaster HEADMASTER, who retired in YEAR. He was succeeded by TEACHER (YEAR-YEAR), who was rector from YEAR-YEAR followed by TEACHER who retired in MONTH YEAR and the school is now runned by TEACHER (Former Depute Rector).
CHECKME: The school was initially a junior secondary, becoming a a comprehensive in YEAR. Set in spacious grounds, it originally comprised four blocks, named C (Main), T (Technical), and the distinctive S (Science) and H (Home Economics and Business Management). S and H blocks are very distinctive, known in the community for their unique circular shape. They link to C Block via a bridge corridor. There are also a detached PE unit housing a small number of classrooms and games halls, including a swimming pool. The school has three cafeterias, D-Hall one being used by 1st, 2nd year pupils; the D-Hall two being used by 3rd, 4th, and D-Hall three by 5th and 6th year pupils. These D-Hall one and two are in C Block, and D-Hall three in H Block.
Sporting Facilities include:

- football/rugby pitch
- 400m running track
- 1 astroturf pitch
There is also an assembly hall in C Block, with a stage area and a full complement of lighting and sound equipment. Also, there is a lecture theatre in S Block with multimedia facilities.
Outwith school hours, the PE block as a community centre.
In January 2006 a gas leak caused an evacuation throughout the school [1]. The leak was attended to by the local fire brigade.
Curriculum
[edit]Pupils are offered a full range of courses from 5-14 in S1/S2, through Standard Grade, to National Qualifications at Intermediate, Higher and Advanced Higher levels.
A high staying on rate is reflected in large numbers gaining employment, training or Further or Higher Education.
A wide range of extracurricular activities is on offer. These include sport, music, drama and chess. Pupils also have the opportunity of out of school travel through various departments, such as visits to various european countries, such as France, Belgium and Germany with the Modern Languages department. Alternatively, the Social Studies department will offer a trip to London to Modern Studies students, and a visit to the Alps with Geography.
Since YEAR the school has offered an annual "Activity Day" to S1-S3, where pupils can apply for a day out of school to enjoy activities such as paintballing, to a day at Alton Towers.
Pupil representatives are elected to year councils and the whole pupil council will often meet with senior management.

Radiowaves
[edit]Inverkeithing High School launched its own internet radio station which can be accessed at the schools Radiowaves site here. All the content is created by pupils. The content is regularly updated, providing an up-to-date bulletin of reviews, department channels and coverage of school events. The station has won several awards including the Listeners Choice Award, Video Of The Year, and Reporter Of The Year which was won by pupil and station publisher Lewis Phillips.
