About me

[edit]

I am a student who lives in United States of America. I love to learn about animal biology . I read sometimes when i do read i mostly read books about like Disney characters but that have different ends then the movies like Twisted Tails series by Liz Braswell. I also sometimes color on my free time and watch movies, I live with my mom and we have a dog hes a Chihuahua Boston Terrier hes more like a support dog.

My Wikipedia interests

[edit]

My Wikipedia interests are more about animals. I like animals a lot, my favorite animal I think would be the Octopus. I believe Octopuses are interesting how some species can change colors and how they can fit through small spaces .[1] I also sometimes like to search up random facts about cultures or just animals, pretty much anything.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

For my article I chose the Milk Snake because i have an interest in snakes. What drew me to the Milk snake was its interesting patter and how they live and protect themselves. They live in forested regions but they can also live in swamps, prairie, farmlands, sometimes sands and beaches. Milk snakes are able to climb trees and swim. They are non-venomous, they have tiny teeth. They move slowly unless they are frightened. I visited the Milk Snake article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Citations, Age, and Structure.

The citations they have in the article i read are appropriate and relatable to the article because they are all about the Milk snake. Every fact and thing they say in the article they cite it with the reliable source appropriate to what they are talking about. They do have the same cites for multiple places in the article like. They are a lot about where they live that other articles have wrote and how they pray for food, frequently asked questions that other people have about the snake they cite an article that another website did.[2]

The Age in the citations in Milk snakes date a couple years ago. Some of them are some of them are from a few years ago. There's one citation that is from 2016 and i read through it is about what are the myths of the Milk snake and what are true facts about the milk snake. The rest of the citations are from 2004 or 2011. About other things of the snake like how they eat and frequently asked questions about the snake.

The view points that i see that are under-represented are is the Conversation status over the fact that the IUNC "faces significant pressure due to pet-trade collection." I believe that they should talk about it in more detail. It can lead to over population of the subspecies due to the fact of the attractiveness of the species in the pet trade.

In conclusion in my article about Milk snakes the citations in the article are good a couple years ago but it does still up to date with the information. They are appropriate with the article because it doesn't lose track about the article and the citations have extra information of what they are talking about on Wikipedia. They do under-represent the IUNC i believe that they should have more information on that but overall there's a lot of good information that is up to date and with the facts for the Milk snakes.
