[edit]About me
[edit]Asher Ray was born in June 2003. I am (as of Jan 2022), studying at EVCC to transfer to Western Washington University, to get a bachelor's in computer science, with the goal of eventually working with game dev studios, focusing on live game balance aimed at a competitive scene. Nothing significant has come from my existence so far, and there won't be anything interesting. I do not do interesting things, and have no interest in anything extreme, say along the lines of forcefully abolishing the national government and replacing it with hippie communes, as I am in no way, shape, or form interested in sabotaging the operations of the U.S. government. I spend almost 24/7 listening to music, because my schedule allows me to not have to talk to people. Most of what I listen to falls under the relatively large "metal" umbrella. My most played artists are Black Sabbath, Pantera, and Nine Inch Nails. I also custom built my own pc, and spend time maintaining it, along with semi-competitively playing Apex Legends, ranking in the top 800 or so out of the 100M+ total players. I also play (non-competitively), Minecraft, which I have 4000+ hours in. I also do a mild amount of lifting/gym time, and keep 30 or so plants in my bedroom, including my favorite plant, a bonsai Acer platanoides, or Norwegian maple, that I have taken care of for 3 years. A weird thing about this particular type of tree is that the branches always start growing in pairs of two, on opposite sides of the tree, except branches often die, making the trees only show the twin branches very rarely. My Interests with Wikipedia
[edit]I have used Wikipedia excessively, mainly to get sources that my English teachers are okay with me using, via the references section. I will probably be adding a lot of Apex Legends competitive insight to Wikipedia, because Wikipedia appears to have none of that info, I know a lot about the topic, and it's hard for others to learn about the competitive scene of the game without speaking directly with someone who knows a lot about it. I will also still be using it so find sources for research papers.
Article Evaluation
[edit]I listen to a lot of music, mainly coming from the metal genre, which is known for its many sub-genres. The sub-genre which I listen to most often is known as Groove metal, with notable groups being Pantera, Down (band), and Crowbar (American band). My draw towards these groups is due to the fact that I have been playing the bass guitar, and these groups heavily use that instrument. I visited the Craig Nunenmacher article on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: A couple of the cited sources are unreliable locations, one dead link in the sources, along with the sources being pulled 12+ years ago, and not being updated since.
In the article I visited, one of the cited sources is a blog post from 2006, which is on a website that is less than reputable and holds no standards over the content posted on it. Another red flag is the fact that the linked page is only 3 sentences of text, and 90% if the page is users fighting and calling each other slurs in the comment section. Along with this, the author of the post is anonymous, and used informal language with no details on the topic being discussed.
Another one of the sources uses a dead link, which is obviously not acceptable for a formal article, and needs to link to another source, or an archived version of the page.
The last issue, which ties them all together is that the most recently pulled source is from 2012, while the others come from 2007 and 2008. As of today, that is 14 years ago. There has been no updating or changing of any of them since then.
Overall, the sourcing of all pieces of info and unreliability of the few links that still even work make this article untrustworthy at best, and not an article that should be looked at if the truth is of dire importance.
