Abhishek Iyengar is a playwright and a theater director who runs WeMove Theatre, a Bangalore based Theater group. Known for his ideology in getting theater a wider range of audience, his plays are both in English and Kannada. Abhishek Iyengar has also directed two short films one of which is a Kannada short film called Some Maana written by legendary Indian writer and filmmaker Satyajit ray. Some of the well known plays written by Abhishek Iyengar include a Kannada play called Namma Metro, which revolves around one city, Bangalore and the citizens of that city. Four different characters from four different walks of life narrate their stories connecting to every section of the audience. His other works include a recently staged English play called P.S I don't love you, a romantic comedy based on a perfect couple who plan their own disaster. The Play P.S I don't love you ran into full houses in Bangalore.
Abhishek Iyengar has written some of plays which are performed freely at schools and colleges, he is promoting the concept of free scripts so that more and more theatre activities can happen at grass root levels.
Abhishek Iyengar started off as one of the volunteers in bangalore theatre groups by doing odd production works and then jumped into the theatre circuit with some mediocre plays initially before Namma Metro play took off for him.
