Darman
Darman is a town in District Narowal Punjab , Pakistan. It is situated on the bank of Nala Basentar; one of the main Nalas in the area. Darman is a historical village of Narowal. Before, Partition, most population of the village was Hindu.Due to riots in 1947 all Hindu families of Darman migrated to India except a few.Darman has the honour to have the biggest, tallest and largest Hindu temple in district Narowal.
Darman in 1971:
During the Indo-Pak war , Darman was in that 500 villages of tehsil shakargarh that was occupied by Indian Army. From 1971-1973 , Darman remained in possession of Indian Army.
Darman Hindu temple:
As mentioned earlier, Darman has the honour to has largest Hindu temple in Narowal. It is Maa Durga Devi's temple. Condition of the temple is not good now due to the absence of Hindu community and lack of Government's attention. It needs to rehabilitated otherwise Narowal may lose such an historic and antique building and area's recognition symbol
