[edit]Additionally, Following the Chevening House Declaration, the British foreign minister William Hague and the officials from Somaliland and Somalia agreed to negotiate.[1]. Both Somaliland and Somalia started preparing themselves for the conference.Silanyo nominated some of his cabinet ministers led by Mohamed Nour Arale Duur, the Minister of Interior,to represent Somaliland in that conference. On 23th February 2012, the both sides met in London. This event was a historical scene that the two countries convened to sort out the prolonged conflict. However, each side had its own intentions of participating in the meeting. For instance,President Silanyo delivered a speech about Somaliland's legitimacy of seeking recognition from the world community. The president also detailed Somaliland's effort to guard its country from the terrorist and pirate chaos that ruined Somalia. At the end of the meeting, the British Foreign Minister William Hague, along with the representatives from Somalia and Somaliland, issued a proclamation that stated that both sides would continue talks.
