Alexandre Zaghetto received his B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002), his M.Sc. degree in 2004, and his Dr. degree in 2009 from the University of Brasilia (UnB), both in Electrical Engineering. From 2009 until 2018 he worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science/UnB, Brazil. During 2017 he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McGill University as a Visiting Professor. Presently, Dr. Zaghetto works at Sony's R&D Center San Jose Laboratory, California, as a Senior Applied Research Engineer. He is a Senior member of IEEE and his research interests include, but are not limited to, Digital Image and Video Processing, and Point Cloud Compression.
