My work
I am the Wikipedian in Residence with the African Library & Information Associations & Institutions focusing on the Wikipedia in African Libraries project. This includes reviewing and adapting the OCLC Wikipedia + Libraries: Better Together course to be made relatable, relevant, and adapted to the African context. The adapted curriculum and teaching materials will be used to conduct an online training course for African librarians.; connecting Africa-based librarians to their local Wikimedia communities; advising and supporting ongoing efforts by AfLIA on how to strategically engage with the Wikimedia Movement and improving technical and social workflows for effective organizing. As part of this work, I occasionally advise on projects like and run campaigns like 1lib1ref.
I also practice as a librarian with the Goethe-Zentrum Kampala.
