I am a male, born 1/64, and reside currently in Spokane, Washington, USA.

I am a software developer and consultant. While I've had a university education, I'm an autodidact in many ways. I can edit intelligently on issues pertaining to software, computer hardware, business, GIS, and more general areas of factual knowledge.

As a "software person" I strongly support open source and free software. In general, I am sympathetic of the information wants to be free ideology. To me, Wikipedia is the apex of the implementation of this sentiment.

I am a native English speaker, and have a rudimentary speaking/reading grasp of German.

I have or have held computer security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and CISSP.

With regard to my "wikiphilosophy", my belief is that Wikipedia should be about "the facts" only. All too often I see articles that clearly have biases of one sort or another, and I think that these need to be neutralized. In particular, in an increasingly important, global work such as Wikipedia, I find political biases of any sort particularly distressing.

That said, the majority of my edits are in the interest of correcting English grammar and rephrasing text to communicate the information more clearly to an English speaker.
