The first name of the catastrophe was Tau Te (the noisy lizard named Myanmar) .Near the southern part of Lakshadweep and in the northeastern and equatorial Indian Ocean of the Maldives.

According to the Meteorological Department, the first cyclone of the year will hit the west coast of the country by Sunday.  Lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat can witness this.  Due to this, heavy rain may occur in many areas including Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra from 14 to 16 May.  This cyclone hit the coastal areas of Gujarat on the middle of May 17, along the coastal areas of Una and Diu.
