Partula incrassa is a species of partulid within the genus Partula. The species is endemic to Tahiti.
Distribution
[edit]P. incrassa's historical distribution is little-known, but now it is only known to persist in two sites.
Phylogeny
[edit]Phylogenetic analyses confirmed that P. affinis is the sister species of P. otaheitana.[1]
Taxonomy
[edit]P. incrassa was originally described as a subspecies of P. clara (P. clara incrassa) before being promoted to species rank.[2]
Subspecies
[edit]- Partula incrassa exigua (sometimes Partula exigua) - Moorea. This was the first Partula to go extinct.
- Partula incrassa incrassa - Tahiti. This is the only extant subspecies.
