Partula arguta was a species of partulid within the genus Partula. The species is rarely referred to as the Huahine tiny partula[1], and was endemic to Huahine.
Distribution
[edit]P. arguta was already considered rare and restricted to the mountains of Huahine[2], and the introduction of Euglandina was the nail in the coffin for the species.[3]
Captive breeding
[edit]P. arguta was being maintained in captivity for some time, but high-altitude Partula are generally not suited for captivity, and the last P. arguta died in April 14, 1994.
Phylogeny
[edit]Phylogenetic analyses studied P. arguta but the results were not published.[4]
Taxonomy
[edit]P. arguta was originally described as a species in the genus Bulimus (B. argutus) before being transferred to Partula when that genus was erected.[5]
