Dr. George J. Sweetland (August 5, 1872 – March 29, 1954 ) was a physician as well as a coach of many sports including basketball, track and field and football at several American universities.

Early Life

Sweetland attended Union College and was graduate of Hobart College and the University of Michigan. A gifted athlete, Sweetland was on the varsity football team at Union and Hobart and He was was captain of the Union College football team in 1895.[1][2]
