Woodlands Meed (formerly Newick House and Court Meadow) is a primary and secondary school in Burgess Hill, West Sussex for those with Special Educational Needs. It educates 164 children between the ages of 2 and 14.
History
[edit]The school was built in 2012 and cost £15m to complete. The school won the 'Mid Sussex Design Awards' in 2015.
Uniform
[edit]The school encourage all children at Woodlands Meed to wear school uniform.
The winter uniform consists of a plain white shirt or polo shirt; black or grey skirt or trousers; a navy blue, red or grey jumper, cardigan or sweatshirt; strong black shoes.
The summer uniform consists of a red and white check summer dress, or a short sleeved white shirt, or a polo-shirt; black or grey shorts or trousers.
Friends of Woodlands Meed Charity
[edit]The Friends of Woodlands Meed (FOWM) is a charitable arm of Woodlands Meed School. The charity is registered with the Charity Commission and is registered charity number 306356. The group is made up of staff and parents.
In 2017 we received some fantastic fundraising events and donations totaling £40,860. Included in that total is the FOWM Fireworks night that raised £3500. Some significant purchases include a Poly Tunnel (£1103), Eye Gaze Unit £1258, Green Screen £338, Sensory Therapy Room £16,660, Recording Studio £5012, Football Scoreboard £303, and Microphones £317.
School Charity Work
[edit]The school holds various fundraising days for worthy causes. In 2013 the school raised £215 for Children in Need and £332.80 for Comic Relief.
