Rough draft of Admin Noticeboard Comment

I'm acting as advocate for Spylab who was recently involved in an edit dispute with Mitsos for which both received short blocks for 3RR violations and the page in question (Hrisi Avgi) was protected. As I investigated Spylab's complaints against Mitsos, I saw a far more troubling pattern emerge than a simple edit war. Since joining WP, Mitsos has focused on asserting his political viewpoints into a variety of articles related to Greece and Nazism, without showing any concern for WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:NOR and in some instances, WP:CIVIL. The following links show some selected examples of these abuses:

• First, a collection of instances where the user removed completely justifiable NPOV tags: 1,2, 3, 4, and 5.
• Early example of page move used to avoid negative stigma.
• Note revisions that limit any mention of Turks, as well as misleading edit summary.
• Some clear OR as can be seen in edit summary "I don't think..."
• Another move which violates NPOV.
• Generally abusive edit summary.
• Mislabeling a well intentioned edit as vandalism.
• Insising on a POV caption where a perfectly acceptable description was already offered.
• Personal attack.
• Personal attack.
• Here's a verifibility issue; WP is not a crystal ball.
• Userpage issues...scroll down to read a couple of copyvio essays and just generally inflamatory material. I know WP is not censored, but that does not mean WP is not decent.
• The same revert (or almost exactly the same, with a comment denying the extensiveness of the revert
• Same (or very similar) revert
• One of the other reverts that was the same, or close to the same as the ones listed above
• Deleted a legitimate 3RR warning on his talk page
• Apparant personal attack - accusing another editor of supporting murder
• Deleted the same 3RR warning on his talk page again
• An earlier unjustified revert to same article linked to above (and which the 3RR warning was for)
• Personal attack including insulting racist language
• Example of political bias - changed neo-Nazi to nationalist to avoid stigma and other wording changes to sneak in political agenda
• Personal attack - accusation of drug use and lack of education
• Deleted legitimate warnings on his own talk page
• Personal attack, including the use of profanity and caps (yelling)
• diff A recent example where Mitsos blanked a page he did not agree with.
• Another misleading edit summary using vandalism as the reason for edit.
• Personal attack, racism

From my perspective, Mitsos should be restricted from editting articles related to Greece or Nazism. He has been warned on his talk page many times (1, 2 for blanking warnings and 3 for blanking a comment that tried to inform him of WP:V standards) and shows no sign of stopping. The information he injects into WP is at best unverifiable and at worst a personal attack against anyone who does not share his political agenda. Here are more examples, starting with more recent, going backwards (although not necesarily in exact order). Sorry if some of them duplicate ones already provided above:

• Violation of 31 hour ban; used anonymous IP to make edits.

• Unjustified partial revert which deleted legitimate tags, re-linked name with no Wikipedia article and reversed corrections to punctuation, factual claims and verb tense.

• Unjustified deletion of necessary disclaimer in sentence, and reversal of legitimate improvement to grammar in sentence

• Unjustified and unproductive revert that re-started edit war, right after the article was inexplicably unprotected

• Unexplained deletion of group from list based on personal bias. The list comes from the book that the article is about, so this edit caused the article to be incomplete.

• Unexplained blanking of message that someone left on his talk page

• Incorrect descripton of his (legitimate) edit; it removed uncited factual claim, but Mitsos described it as "rm POV".

• POV pushing using a biased reference that doesn't even back up the claims in the sentence. He then re-added the claims with a Greek language reference, which is useless for non-Greek speakers.

• Added biased reference that didn't actually back up what was being claimed (reference link was expired when re-checked Dec. 2, 2006)

• The final version of a repetive revert, which deleted a justifiable neutrality tag, re-inserted uncited opinion, linked name with no article, gave link a Greek language title when article linked to has English title, used tense that predicts future behaviour, and split similar topics into separate sections when they really should be in one section

• The same revert (or almost exactly the same, with a comment denying the extensiveness of the revert

• Same (or very similar) revert

• One of the other reverts that was the same, or close to the same as the ones listed above

• Deleted a legitimate 3RR warning on his talk page

• Apparant personal attack - accusing another editor of supporting murder

It seems that some users want me blocked because they don't agree with my ideology. Your arguments are that I have commited personal attacks and other things against WP policy. You forgot to say about the significant contributions I have made to many articles, and you only reffer to very few cases where I have commited personal attacks. I was blocked because of that, and I have learned my lesson. About the dispute in Hrisi Avgi, Spylab, please see Talk:Hrisi Avgi. I know much more than you about that party, plus I can read Greek and you can't. Mitsos 19:30, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

• It has nothing to do with not agreeing with your "ideology". The problem is your lack of civility, your dishonesty and most of all that fact that you are only here to twist articles to suit your beliefs.   • I 'm not dishonest and I 'm not twisting articles to suit my beliefs. I try to be as neutral as possible in my style of editing. If I didn't, I would blank the entire Holocaust article. But I know that Wikipedia must be neutral and include all POVs. Mitsos 14:59, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm no friend of the admin process, and I hate to see any user blocked, but this is not the first time he has been dishonest in an edit summary. People do not have time to sort his sincere contributions (few), from his lies and distortions (many). I was ok with having a racist moron running around- in fact I think it strengthens the project to have people with every POV buy into it - but now I've changed my mind in his case. Snitch away.
