Alliance of Doctors
[edit]The Alliance of Doctors (the variant Doctor's Alliance is used as well) (Russian: Альянс врачей; Alyans Vrachey) is an independent trade union founded in 2018 to advocate doctors and health care workers in Russia. The chairman of trade union is the Candidate of Medical Sciences, ophthalmologist Anastasia Vasilieva.
The impetus for the trade union founding was the situation when Vasilyeva's mother, Doctor of Medical Sciences Nadezhda Makashova, was tried to be dismissed from her position as a doctor at the Research Institute of Eye Diseases by offering the position of a janitor.
