Tramila Bhattacharya or Bhattacherjee (born 11 May 1984 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India) is an Indian actress. She works in Bengali and Hindi television serials, streaming television series, and films. She started her career in the Bengali serial Seemarekha on Doordarshan Bangla in the 1990s.[1] She has appeared in serials including Mohini, Prati Chuyanno Minute e, Pratiksha ektu bhalobashar, Ekak Dashak Shatak, Poush Faguner Pala, Ananya, Sonar Harin, Ghente GHA, Rajjotak, Aaj Ari kaal Bhaab, Mayurpankshi, Mohor, Potol Kumar Gaanwala, Adorini, Jay Kali Kalkattawali, Jay Kanhaiya Laal Ki, Jiyon Kathi, Mom Palok, Mou-Er-Bari, Agni Juger Padatik, Surjomukhi, Jiban rekha, Subarna Golok, Aloukik, Haste Mana, Ek Je Achhe Kanya, Durbeen, Ajob Saja, and others. After marriage she returned to acting in Ghate Ghew.[1] She worked on the streaming television series Hello, which was released on Hoichoi.[1][2]

Early life

Tramila was the youngest of the three daughters from Gopal Chandra Bhattacharya and Anjana Bhattacharya. Her elder sisters are Pamela and Paromita. Her parents used to perform in theatre and drama, film and dance rehearsal events happened often at home. Her father was in the medical profession. Tramila learned Odissi, Kathak and Bharatnatyam dance forms and participated in dramas. She entered Netaji Nagar Day College as a Commerce student for higher secondary education and graduated in Accountancy Honors.

Career

Tramila lost her father while in high school. At the end of 1996 her uncle Arjun Bhattacharya, who was an actor and script writer came home with an offer to audition for a soap named Sheemarekha. She appeared in Ajob Saja, Suborno Golok, Ek Je Ache Kanya, Mahakaal, Mohini, Ekak Dashak Shatak, Hastey Mana, Agni Juger Padatik, Proti Chuyanno Minute ey, Poush Faguner Pala, Aloukik, Rohoshyo Golpo, Surjomukhi, Chokher Bali, Nayantara, Pratiksha Ektu Bhalobashar, Sahityer Sera Somoy, Purba Paschim, and Ananya.

In 2012 she opened her own production house "Beautiful Mind Creations" and produced an animation project for Rupashi Bangla on Kakababu.

In 2013 she started working on Ghnete Ghaw for Akash-8. Then she worked on Rajjotak for Zee and then on Aaj Ari Kaal Bhaab, Potol Kumar Gaanwala, Adorini, Jai Kanhaiya Laal Ki, Jai Kaali Kalkattawali, Mayurpankhi, Jiyonkathi, Mohor, Mompalok, Mou-er-Bari, and Panchami. She acted for two Hoichoi Bengali webseries- Hello, Hello-2 and Gora-2.

Personal life

She married her childhood friend Surjya Sekhar Dutta in 2003. He is a merchant seaman. She decided to work on a post-graduate degree in Film making and completed it from New Castle College, under North Umbria University in 2005. She returned to India in 2007. She worked for multinationals until 2012. She sailed with her husband to many countries. She also worked in Sonar Harin for Etv Bangla.

In 2012 she bore their daughter Rashmika Dutta.
