Tom and Jerry: Yankee Doodle's CAT-astrophe is a 1990 side-scrolling video game based on the classic animated series Tom and Jerry. The game was developed by the American game developer Hi-Tech Expressions for personal computers with the MS-DOS operating system. It was one of the first video games based on the animated series.
Gameplay
[edit]In the game, the player can play either Tom the cat or Jerry the mouse. During the game Tom constantly attempts to capture Jerry in a basement. The game was loosely based on the 1943 Tom and Jerry episode "The Yankee Doodle Mouse".[2] Jerry is able to trick Tom using various traps and gadgets, such as throwing eggs at Tom, dropping light bulbs on his head from a small plane, run him over with a little car, throwing dynamite at him, or by stabbing him with a knitting needle.[2]
The game includes both a single-player game option and a multiplayer game option that allows two players to compete against each other.[citation needed]
