Theo Germaine is an American actor, best known for playing James Sullivan on the Netflix television series The Politician.[2][3]

Career

Germaine acted in plays at Steppenwolf and The Goodman in Chicago before being cast in 2019 in The Politician on Netflix and Work in Progress on Showtime.[4][5] They starred alongside Kevin Bacon in the 2022 slasher film They/Them, which centers on an LGBTQ conversion therapy camp.[6]

Personal life

Germaine is originally from Illinois; they worked at a coffee shop in Chicago before temporarily relocating to Los Angeles, California for The Politician.[2] Germaine is transexual and non-binary and uses they/them and he/him pronouns.[2][3] Germaine medically and socially transitioned as a teen.[7]

On the LGBTQ&A podcast, Germaine explained, "I joke and tell people my first memories are The Lion King and gender dysphoria. I remember being three years old and being in daycare and we were all lying down on our mats and trying to nap, and I remember not being able to nap because I would always just sit there and think about gender."[7]
