[edit]

On March 26, 2024, Max gave production a 15-episode series order for The Pitt. The series is created and showran by R. Scott Gemmill who is also expected to executive produce alongside Noah Wyle, John Wells, Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan, and Michael Hissrich.[1] Production companies involved with the series are John Wells Productions and Warner Bros Television. The pilot is also written by Gemmill.[6] On August 27, 2024, it was reported that the Michael Crichton's widow Sherri Crichton on behalf of John Michael Crichton Trust's Roadrunner JMTC sued Warner Bros Television, Wells, Wyle, Gemmill over breach of contract of the ER sequel which got turned into The Pitt and Crichton is not credited as creator.[7] On November 4, 2024, Warner Bros Television's lawyers responded to the lawsuit by filing for motion to dismiss and claimed that it is "a completely different show".[8]
