The Chief Witness (German: Die Kronzeugin) is a 1937 German crime drama film directed by Georg Jacoby and starring Iván Petrovich, Sybille Schmitz and Sabine Peters.[1] [2] [3] It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin.[4] The film's sets were designed by the art directors Otto Hunte and Willy Schiller. Location shooting took place in the Krkonose Mountains in Czechoslovakia and Zugspitze in Bavaria.
Synopsis
[edit]Elise, the former wife of composer Stefan Laurin, begs him to recover some letters from a man who has been blackmailing her. When he gets to the man's apartment, he finds him murdered and becomes the main suspect.
