The Akaali is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Mohamed Asif Hameed. The film stars Nassar, Thalaivasal Vijay, Jayakumar Janakiraman, Vinoth Kishan and Swayam Siddha.[1] The film was produced by Ukeshvaraan Prabhu[2] under the banner of PBS Productions, and had a theatrical release on 31 May 2024.[3]

The film noted debuted for the director Mohamed Asif Hameed.[4] The cinematography of the film was by Giri Murphy, and the editing was handled by Iniyavan Pandiyan.[5]

Reception

Sreejith Mullappilly of Cinema Express rated two star out of five and gave mixed reviews.[6] Times Now critic wrote that "The Akaali is likely to appeal to only those who really like serious, dark horror stories. Even such people will have to make a serious and significant effort to comprehend and understand the plot in its entirety."[7]
