Thasi Thanou is a 2010 Manipuri film written by Dr. Jayanta and directed by Mayanglangbam Raghumani (Eepu).[1][2] The film is produced by M. Loyanganbi Chanu under the banner of Eeraba Pictures.[3] It stars Huirem Seema, Denny Likmabam, Lairenjam Olen and Leishangthem Tonthoi in the lead roles.[4][5] The movie was released at Friends Talkies, Imphal in 2010.[6] The DVDs of Thasi Thanou were released post Seema's demise in September 2011.[7] The film won an award at the 1st Sahitya Seva Samiti MANIFA 2012.[8]
Plot
[edit]The film tells the story of Thagoi who answers to the spiritual calling and becomes a Maibi. This gives solace to the otherwise bitter, unforgettable past she experienced in her life.

Soundtrack
[edit]Jeeten Khaidem composed the soundtrack for the film and Anand Bhushan and Jeeten Khaidem wrote the lyrics. The songs are titled Waheina Phongdokpa Ngamdrabasu and Thawaigidi Thawai Oiba Nangni.
Accolades
[edit]Huirem Seema won the Best Actress in a Leading Role Award for her role in the film at 1st Sahitya Seva Samiti MANIFA 2012.[9] The award was given posthumously.
