Similarity to TQ font

[edit]

Given the similarity between the font colour used for example text in {{xt}} (like this) and that used for quoted talk page text in {{tq}} (like this), there is an RfC at Template talk:Tq#RfC: Change the TQ template font colour to distinguish them. Please have your say there. sroc 💬 15:25, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting deprecated parameters

[edit]

There is a discussion at Template talk:Convert#Formatting of deprecated examples regarding the use of {{!xt}} (compare {{deprecated code}}) to indicate deprecated template parameters and {{xt}} to indicate correct parameters. sroc 💬 01:33, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Improved documentation needed and lint fixing too

[edit]

This (and probably related templates) need improved documentation. Talk:Tom Graves uses markup

{{xt|{{fake heading|sub=3|Tenure}}

which is generating a div-span-flip lint error, and there's no documentation on a "sub" parameter. —Anomalocaris (talk) 00:33, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

red–green color-blindness

[edit]

in general, i think it's generally understood that the use of green and red as a visual dichotomy for 'correct' and 'incorrect' (etc.) is outmoded. maybe the templates should adopt blue—red instead? Remsense (talk) 18:45, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Like Democrats and Republicans? EEng 18:55, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
if this isn't a joke (and if it is, fine by me!), yeah! i dunno. if the association of red with 'incorrect' is too arbitrary/fraught locally (while we're redesigning the basics) maybe blue—yellow? i'm thinking of accessible color schemes i've seen proposed in dataviz circles. Incorrect error message on substitution

[edit]

The Template is supposed to error when used in mainspace with "Template:Xt is only for examples of style and formatting. Do not use it in actual articles". However, when the template is substituted, {{#invoke:TEMPLATENAME|main}} is added to the target so the error message ends up including the article's name instead of the template's. This can be fixed by substituting the module's output, like I've done in the sandbox. If no one objects, I'll turn this into an edit request. Nickps (talk) 16:05, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 12 September 2024

[edit]

Please change the color definition so that it uses a dark-mode-compatible variable, such as --color-content-added. This template's contrast ratio currently fails all contrast guidelines, while the proposed version (see Template:Xt/sandbox) passes everything with flying colors.
