Season

[edit]

The statements in my edit summaries that a motorsport season last from January to December is arguably still true but my sources are archaic, I'm referencing out of date FIA documents and can't support my claim. Implications are hinted at in various places, such as the WRC regulations that start on January 1st when there isn't a rally for another 3-4 weeks, but there's no crystal clarity when they end. The word season is used but not defined. There is the rule regarding the requirement for champions to go to the prize-giving ceremony or face a fine, suggesting the rules are still enforceable into December, but I'm not interested in debating and voting on it. It's more interesting to me than important.

Formula E drivers are required to have 2 identical successive licenses for one championship season, as licenses only last one calendar year; January-December. Licenses are issued by ASNs, and my local ASN makes constant reference to the 'motorsport season', so it is a term.

I still support the results of my edits but I will not edit it again. I'm not sure how keeping it like this is helpful. I don't know if this has form in previous years but the average reader doesn't know that 'last Junior WRC season' has finished already when the other WRCs are current. It looks like an error even to me, but then I already know 'last season's champions' don't get their title awards for another 3 months, where they are obliged to go to prizegiving for what is to me, during this motorsport season. JWRC is not ongoing as champions are already declared. You are debating what is "current" and it could be both (ongoing or current rally season). I rather have them in the same header, so I suggest "2024 season". Pelmeen10 (talk) 18:16, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
