"Schools"
[edit]The usage here is very US-centric. Wouldn't it make more sense to choose something that was just as unambiguous to other English speakers? Maybe "Universities" if that's synonymous? (I'm afraid I'm ignorant of the vocabulary of the US education system, forgive me.) - Jarry1250 [Humorous? Discuss.] 21:00, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Schools in the US means universities, but also any other sort of schools: high school, kindergarten, etc. While we're only working with universities now, the program will hopefully be open to other educational institutions as well eventually.--Sage Ross - Online Faciliator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 21:10, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm, tricky. (In British and - I'm guessing - Commonwealth usage, a university is not a school, but the other two you mention are.) Establishments? "Centers" strikes me as another possibility, I think the American spelling would be perfectly acceptable - it's just the misunderstanding I'm worried about. - Jarry1250 [Humorous? - Yeah, thanks for bringing this up. We should try to find a good wording that isn't US-centric. The one for the earlier WikiProject was "school and university projects", which I guess gets the same place for both US and UK usage.--Sage Ross - Online Faciliator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 22:07, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Synchronize with tabs at Wikipedia:Ambassadors
[edit]How about we synchronzie the entries here with those at Template:Ambassador tabs? It is a bit confusing that we have two similar lists of content. Bolded items are included in both. This template links to:
- meta:Wikipedia Ambassador Program
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors (labelled "principles", even through it is not in the page title)
- Wikipedia:Campus Ambassadors
- Wikipedia:Online Ambassadors
- Wikipedia:WikiProject United States Public Policy (this one probably should be removed now)
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Courses (labled School and Courses)
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Resources
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/IRC
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Steering Committee
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Editing Fridays
The tabs have links to:
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors (labelled welcome)
- Wikipedia talk:Ambassadors (labelled discuss)
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Courses
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Become an ambassador
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Current ambassadors
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Resources
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/For instructors
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Goings on
- Wikipedia:Ambassadors/IRC (labelled live chat)
Also, nothing links to Wikipedia:WikiProject Classroom coordination, which should be added. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:29, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
